  • Coffee beans vs. espresso beans, what's the difference?

The difference is in the roasting! The raw product, "green coffee," is the same. Filter coffee is roasted lighter, while espresso is often roasted darker. Robusta is also often used for espresso blends because Robusta has less acid and more caffeine than Arabica.

  • Taste - coffee varieties and fermentation methods

The taste of coffee is determined by the varieties and fermentation methods used in the country of origin. By roasting, we bring out the more than 900 aromas to their full potential and adapt them to different preparation methods. Our coffee offers the perfect basis for your brewing pleasure.

  • Coffee accessories - what do you really need for optimal preparation?

There are countless coffee accessories, but you don't need much to make the perfect coffee. A V60 filter and a gooseneck jug are perfect for fruity coffees. If you want to make espresso yourself, you can start with a fully automatic machine, but we always recommend an espresso machine for the best results.

What is good coffee?

Good coffee needs, first and foremost, good green coffee. Quality-oriented cultivation rather than mass production plays a decisive role here. Selecting good varieties, processed using good fermentation and drying processes, keeps the quality potential high. Then comes roasting, which should be individually adapted to the green coffee and preparation methods. If all of these steps can be carried out without significant loss of quality, we have a really good coffee that the barista must not ruin ;-)

This is a quick, superficial answer but we like to go into more depth in our blog posts.

What is the best way to make coffee?

Personal preference plays a big role here! Some people swear by a strong espresso, while others enjoy liters of filter coffee. A good espresso is certainly a highlight for the soul during the day.

For coffee lovers who want to discover the more than 900 different aromas in coffee, we recommend the hand-poured pour-over method (e.g. V60, Chemex). Light to light roasted coffees are particularly suitable for this. This method of preparation brings out the complex and diverse flavor profiles best.

Why Pour Over?

  • Variety of aromas : The slow and even extraction allows the diverse aromas to develop optimally.
  • Clarity in taste : The coffee is clear and clean, without residue.
  • Customization : The preparation can be customized to your liking to achieve the perfect taste.

That's why we believe the pour-over method is the best preparation method for anyone who wants to experience the true variety and complexity of coffee.
